THE body of a man who went missing in Limerick city last weekend has been found, An Garda Síochána confirmed this afternoon.
Michael Hyland was last seen at around 5am on Saturday, April 8 when he left his apartment on Parnell Street.
The 47-year-old was reported missing the following morning and Gardaí launched an appeal for information.
The force described Mr Hyland as being approximately 5'10" in height, of medium build, with brown eyes and brown hair.
When last seen the missing Limerick man was wearing dark coloured jacket and beige chinos.
A body found this morning has been identified as that of Mr Hyland, Gardaí said in a statement a short time ago.
They are yet to disclose where his remains were found.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Roxboro Road, Limerick investigating the missing man Michael Hyland, 47 years, who went missing on 6th April, 2019 have recovered his body this morning, Wednesday 10th April, 2019.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter."
