A GARDA officer has pleaded not guilty to possessing images and videos of child abuse after the material was allegedly found on his laptop.
Joseph O'Connor, 58, from west Dublin, is currently on trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court charged with five counts of possession of child abuse material at his home.
The trial, which began last week, heard that IT experts found 92 image files of children under the age of 17 being subjected to sexual acts on what is alleged to be O'Connor's Dell computer.
The laptop was seized from O'Connor's house on August 2, 2011.
Giving evidence of the analysis she carried out on the device, Garda Janet Walsh said she also discovered 136 images of child exposure and 85 video files of children engaged in sexual acts with men.
Alice Fawsitt SC, prosecuting, further heard that O'Connor's internet history brought investigators to two pornographic websites that included references to images and videos of teenage boys.
Additionally, a duplicate image found on the laptop's hard drive showed an adult male engaging in a sexual act with an underage boy in an outdoor setting, possibly a field or forest.
Garda Walsh added that she found pictures of the accused and a photograph of his Garda ID card on the laptop as well as a Skype account under the username 'JP1Dub' and display name 'Joe'.
She said the profile image on the Skype account clearly matched the defendant.
Garda O'Connor denies the charges against him. The trial continues.
