GAA officials are investigating after racy footage apparently showing players celebrating a county final victory with strippers spread across social media.
St Patrick’s Ballyragget secured a 1-19 to 2-10 win over Graigue Ballycallan in Sunday’s Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship Final.
It was Ballyragget’s fourth final in six years but their first win since 1979, so the celebrations were always likely to be intense.
However footage and images have emerged on social media reportedly showing players partying with two strippers, with the trophy clearly visible.
It is believed the party took place in a rural pub on Tuesday night and was a private event, not organised by the club.
However the Kilkenny County Committee are now investigating the matter, with a statement saying: “The Kilkenny county committee can confirm that it is investigating an incident that took place on Tuesday night at a non-GAA event in Ballyragget.
“County officers met with representatives of St Patrick’s Ballyragget on Wednesday night and will review its findings in the coming days.
“There will be no further public comment at this time.”

In one image, a man is his underwear can be seen holding the trophy while being flanked by the two nearly-naked women.
As the images spread across social media, people debated whether the celebrations had gone too far or if it was just a bit of fun.
Ballragget will face Kildare’s Ardclough in the quarter-final of the Leinster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship on November 4.
Call me a prude but I think those #Ballyragget photos are a complete embarrassment to the club, wouldn't want my club to be at that.

Ugh #ladism continuing to be laughed at when it’s seriously disrespectful & a disillusioning reflection of young men’s culture #Ballyragget

At least Ballyragget celebrated the f*cking thing. Nothing worse than seeing a team win something & not celebrate the hard work put into it.
