THE funeral of Kerry Association Lifelong President Patrick Hurley will take place in London next week.
Mr Hurley, known as Patsy, will be buried at Hampstead Cemetery on Thursday (July 10) following a Funeral Mass at St Agnes Church in Cricklewood.
Based in Cricklewood, the Killorglin, Co. Kerry native passed away on June 29 following a long illness.
Mr Hurley’s loss will be deeply felt in the London Irish community where he was an immensely popular figure.
He leaves behind his sons Patrick, Thomas, John, Michael, Timothy and Brendan, daughter Noreen as well as his daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a wide circle of family and friends.
Mr Hurley, an avid GAA fan who regularly attended games, is predeceased by his son Dominic, wife Mary and daughter Bridget Anne.
“The amount in grieving truly portrays the extent of Patsy’s influence on the London Irish community,” the London Kerry Association said in a tribute.
Mr Hurley will be reposing at Nodes Funeral Home, 122 Cricklewood Broadway, London NW2 3EE on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 8 and 9 between 10am and 4pm.
His body will be received into St Agnes Church, Cricklewood Lane, London NW2 1HR, on Wednesday, July 9 at 6.30pm, with his funeral taking place the following morning at 11am.
The Hurley family do not wish for flowers to be sent but donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
A collection will also be taken up at the Funeral Mass or cheques can be sent to Nodes Funeral Directors.
