EMIRATES airline confirmed this afternoon that four passengers on board the disastrous flight that crash landed in Dubai were Irish.
The airline released a statement via their Facebook page after flight EK521, flying from India, crash landed at Dubai International Airport.
Emirates have also confirmed there are no fatalities.
"Emirates can confirm that today, 3rd August 2016, flight EK521 travelling from Trivandrum International Airport in Thiruvananthapuram, India to Dubai has been involved in an operational incident upon landing at Dubai International Airport. There were 282 passengers and 18 crew on board."
The flight departed Trivandrum International Airport just after 10am this morning and was due to land in Dubai at 12.50 this afternoon, local time, 09.50 BST.
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs said: “Ireland’s Embassy in Abu Dhabi is engaging with relevant authorities. The Department stands ready to provide consular assistance if requested.”
