Four arrested over murder of grandmother, 62, whose remains were found scattered around Wicklow Mountains

FOUR people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old woman whose dismembered remains were found in the Wicklow Mountains last year.

Patricia O'Connor, a grandmother from Rathfarnham, south Dublin, was reported missing on June 2, 2017.

The hospital chef's disappearance was not initially treated as suspicious.

However, Gardaí launched an investigation eight days later on June 10, 2017 after walkers discovered a torso at Military Road, Enniskerry.

A number of other body parts belonging to Ms O'Connor were later found scattered across a 30km area of Co. Dublin and Co. Wicklow.

Gardaí have now confirmed that two men, aged 41 and 52, and two women, aged 20 and 39, have been arrested.

All four appeared before Tallaght District Court shortly after their arrests this morning.

One man has already been charged with Ms O'Connor's murder and is currently before the courts.
