VIDEO FOOTAGE emerged over the weekend of a Dublin Bus driver being brutally assaulted by an on-coming passenger.
The video shows a heated argument taking place between the driver and the passenger.
The driver’s door appears to be open and the driver is standing up to face the unruly passenger.
The man can be heard pleading with the driver to let him on the bus, only to be repeatedly told ‘no’.
After the third time of asking, the bus driver says ‘good luck’, which seems to enrage the on-coming passenger who proceeds to repeatedly punch the bus driver in the face.
The driver struggles to defend himself as the man drags him out of the bus and on to the street outside, where he continues to hit him in the head.
Eventually, a member of the public intervenes and in the next clip, the man is being pinned to the floor of the bus by several people.
The extent of the bus driver’s injuries is unknown.
The Irish Post has contacted An Garda Siochana for a statement on the incident.
