IT'S NEVER been easier to book a trip from Ireland to Canada after budget airline WOW Air announced it will soon be offering low-cost flights to the region.
From June 2019, the budget airline will be operating routes from Dublin to Vancouver, with flights on offer from as little as €129 one way.
Flights will be on offer six times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The low-cost flights will be long-haul, to say the least, with the total flight time amounting to eight hours along with a four-hour layover in Reykjavik.
But, given the prices on offer, that sort of stop-off is sure to fly by.
It's the first low-cost, long-haul flight to run between Dublin and Vancouver, with flights costing €129 one way.
Svanhvít Fridriksdóttir, Director of Communications at WOW air, noted that the news is sure to go down well with Irish emigrants in the region.
"We are delighted to offer our Irish passengers a new and exciting Canadian destination. The addition of Vancouver to our route network reflects our commitment to continually improve our offering for our Irish passengers," he said.
"We know Canada, and in particular Vancouver, is hugely popular among Irish emigrants. We are delighted to be able to offer them a more affordable way to travel, whether that's coming home to visit friends and family or allowing loved ones to cross the Atlantic and visit relatives in their new homes."
It's estimated that as many as five million Irish Canadians currently reside in the region, which equates to around 15 per cent of the country's entire population.
WOW Air already offers flights from Dublin to Toronto and Montreal with this new route offering a wealth of holidaying possibilities - provided you wrap up warm of course.
