FIVE PEOPLE, including an eleven year old boy, have died in separate road collisions over the weekend.
On Friday, 21 February, an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Tullyarvan, Co Donegal, when he was struck by a van while walking with a friend.
He was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for emergency treatment but sadly passed away from his injuries yesterday evening, Sunday 23 February.
Anyone who may have information on the collision, particularly any road users with dash cam footage, are urged to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074 932 0540.
A man in his 40's died in Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny in the early hours of Saturday morning, 22 February, when his van collided with a tree between midnight and 1am.
He was taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny where he was pronounced dead.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witneses to the collision, including anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident, to contact Thomastown Garda Station on 056 775 4150.
A second man, aged in his 30's, was fatally injured in County Clare on Saturday in a single vehicle collision in which the car he was driving left the road and struck a wall. Emergency services attended the incident but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A further single vehicle collision in Ashford, Co Wicklow on Sunday evening claimed the life of a man in his 40's when his car collided with a ditch. The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

And a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car on the N10 in Templemartin, Co Kilkenny, at approximately 8.45pm yesterday, February 23.
The 32-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the occupants of the car were taken to St Luke's Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
