A FATHER and son have been hospitalised after an accident at a farm in rural Ireland.
Gardaí were called to the scene in Co. Offaly at approximately 3.45pm on Thursday afternoon, after the alarm was raised.
The man, 47, was seriously injured after he fell from a teleporter at the farm in Congort, Shinrone.
According to Agriland.ie, the 11-year-old boy involved is believed to be the man’s son and also fell from the vehicle.
The father is currently in a critical condition after he was first airlifted to Tallaght Hospital, before later being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
The boy was taken to Tullamore Hospital, where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified, and their inspectors will attend the scene in Co. Offaly tomorrow morning.
