THE family of murdered Irish bookmaker Des Fox has appealed for help in finding his killer 25 years after his death.
The 47-year-old was on his way to the Curragh Races when he was shot in the leg and left to bleed to death at Healy's Bridge on 30 September 1990.
Around £15,000 was also stolen from the father of three.
Last Sunday a memorial service took place before around 100 members of Edendork GAA set off on bikes from the place where he died to the club of which Mr Fox was chairman when he died.
Fox's family have never had any closure after the tragedy, and it left a big scar in our whole community, Stephen McKenna, Edendork GAA told the BBC.
We named our clubrooms in Dessie's honour, and it is here where we finished our cycle on Sunday afternoon, he added.
Mr Fox's family and organisers are hoping the event might prompt someone who knows about the murder to come forward
In a statement, Irish police said Mr Fox's death was the subject of a live and ongoing investigation.
