Kerry hospital looks to Britain for experienced surgeons

A CO. KERRY hospital is looking to entice surgeons in Britain to work in Ireland.

As part of the expansion programme at the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee a number of experienced Consultant General Surgeons are being recruited.

With over 500 staff and more than 40 consultants, phase-two of a €7million development is due to commence in the New Year at the Kerry hospital.

Hospital Manager Donna Roche said the new consultants will replace some of its long-serving surgeons who are due to retire.

She added: “Our expanding team encompasses a comprehensive range of clinical specialties and diversity of sub-specialty interests. The people who work at Bon Secours are our strength.

"We look forward to welcoming applications from consultants who wish to live and work in one of the most popular locations in the world where the quality of life is second to none.”

This year alone four new consultants joined the hospital to work in areas covering Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Paediatrics and Cardiology.
