Emergency services at scene of dramatic fire near Dublin

EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a dramatic fire in Co. Kildare this morning.

The blaze broke out at approximately 7.40am at a business premises in Johnstown, a commuter hub around 25km west of Dublin.

At least two Kildare Fire Service engines and a number of support vehicles rushed to The Buggyman yard shortly before 8am.

Naas Gardaí also attended the scene.

The Buggyman is a well-known local business which offers new and used golf carts for sale and hire.

A large transporter-type lorry was destroyed during the incident as well a number of golf carts.

However, it's understood that no one was injured in the blaze.

The fire was contained by 8.15am and is not a threat to the public, Gardaí said.

Early indications suggest that the fire was caused by an electrical fault, according to KildareNow.

AA Roadwatch is advising drivers to take caution on the N7 near the J8 Johnstown exit as smoke may affect visibility.

There are delays in both directions with southbound services most affected.

Luas passengers have been advised to allow for extra travel time as southbound services are experiencing delays.
