ELEVEN people have been arrested in Ireland as part of a major gardaí investigation into child abuse.
The six women and five men were arrested following raids on homes in Limerick, Tipperary and Kerry.
Those arrested range in age from their 20s to their 70s.
The Irish Independent reports that the suspects are all members of an extended family.
They add the the arrests are the culmination of a nine-month investigation.
The 11, who are being held on suspicion of sexual exploitation of children, are being questioned at garda stations in Limerick, Cork and Clare.
They can be held without charge for 24 hours.
