EIGHT fire engines have been dispatched to tackle a fire that has broken out in a hotel in Dublin’s Northside.
The Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed they were in attendance at the fire in Ballymun, believed to be at the Metro Hotel near Dublin Airport.
Advanced paramedics and other specialist appliances are also in attendance at the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started at around 7.30pm and has affected the upper floors of the hotel.
Guests are believed to have been evacuated however Noel Rock, Fine Gael TD for Dublin North-West, said he couldn’t yet confirm whether everyone was safe.
He tweeted: “There’s a very alarming situation unfolding in Ballymun at the Metro Hotel.
“I hope that everybody is safe but cannot be certain for the moment.
“I’d like to praise the emergency workers I’ve spoken to this evening, and thank them for their work.”

The fire brigade has urged people to avoid the area, warning of severe traffic delays.
It is not yet known what caused the fire.
