THE most senior position in An Garda Siochana is now being advertised to the public for applications.
The job of Garda Commissioner became available last year when former commissioner Noirin O’ Sullivan resigned.
O’ Sullivan’s temporary replacement Donall O Cualain announced last week that he wouldn’t be putting his name forward for the role, after which the job advertisement was posted on publicjobs.ie.
The public are now invited to make applications for the role before the closing date early next month.
The role is described as “extremely challenging, wide-ranging and high profile” and requires “an inspirational leader, accomplished senior manager and a person of utmost integrity”.
It says that Ireland’s national police and security service, “is growing, reforming and changing” and that “this is a unique opportunity to lead, manage and develop a service which is due to expand by up to 30% over the next few years”.
If the proposed salary of €250,000 rings your bells, you can apply here.
