Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson makes brave Irish boy's dream come true with once-in-a-lifetime visit

DWAYNE JOHNSON paid a very special visit to a brave boy from Kildare last month, who is currently battling a rare form of cancer

Nine-year-old PJ is being treated for Ewing’s sarcoma and last December got the chance to meet his idol, The Rock, in person.

An avid fan of the Hollywood star’s movies and wrestling career, PJ’s dream encounter with ‘The Great One’ was made possible by Make-A-Wish Ireland.

Johnson tweeted a message of appreciation to his followers on Twitter this week, providing a link to a video of their emotional encounter.

Meeting the The Rock provided PJ with a rare bit of respite from his treatment with his mother Tanya describing it as "a chance of a lifetime" and that her son had never been happier.

PJ couldn’t hide his delight either, describing the encounter with the Fast and Furious star as a “dream come true".

Johnson, meanwhile, gave PJ his best regards in the tweet sharing their experience together.

“PJ’s an awesome and special boy,” he wrote.

“So cool that I got a chance to hang out with him!! Thanks PJ!”

The encounter also gave Johnson a chance to reconnect with his Irish roots.

"I have some strong Irish blood on my dad's side of the family," he previously told Entertainment.ie during the promotional circuit for Hercules.

"I've always felt like I was tough and had a little bit of luck and I can drink."

Someone get that man a pint of Guinness now.
