Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to baby BOY in London

THE Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy just hours after she went into labour with her third child early this morning.

Kate Middleton delivered her son at the exclusive Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on St George's Day.

The child, who is a younger sibling to Kate and Prince William's two older children, George, four, and two-year-old Charlotte, is now fifth in line to the throne.

It is the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's sixth great-grandchild.

In line with tradition, a bulletin notice declaring the birth has gone on display on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

Although the baby's name may already have been chosen, the public will likely be left guessing on the appellation for several days.

The Duchess is expected to take an extended period away from the limelight to recover and nurse the latest addition to her family, but is likely to attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding on May 19.
