OH BABY, baby, how was he supposed to know?
When Brad Phillips arrived at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin for a tour of the world-famous brewery, he could never have imagined he would be turned away for dressing as Britney Spears.
Visiting as part of his stag do in the Irish capital, Phillips and his group had their special trip ruined by over-officious staff at the brewery.
Dressed as Spears from the music video to her breakthrough debut ...Baby One More Time, they assumed they would be allowed to complete the tour without a hitch
The groom’s best man had done this research too, checking the Guinness Storehouse website to see if the venue had a particular dress code.
He also conducted further research on several stag party websites which indicated they would be allowed to complete the tour in fancy dress.
However, as The Sun reports, Phillips’ carefully planned trip was left in disarray after his Britney-themed outfit was branded “not appropriate” by Storehouse staff.
“I thought they must have been joking. A security guard asked if I had anything else I could put on, but I didn’t,” Brad told The Sun.
“He said people might get offended. I could understand if it was a church or something, but it’s a brewery. It put things on a bit of a downer.”
Phillips had been allowed to board his flight to Dublin dressed as the pop princess, leaving the groom and his party upset at the surprise snub.
After making a formal complaint the couple from Norther East London were offered free entry to the Storehouse as a gesture of goodwill from Guinness.
Unfortunately, the couple aren’t planning on visiting Dublin any time soon.
Oops, they did it again.
