MEMBERS of Sydney’s GAA community have joined forces to film a spine-chilling tribute to Ireland’s heroes of 1916.
Produced by Cormac McAnallen's GAC, who are named after the former Tyrone captain who died in his sleep 12 years ago, the footage was shot using a drone above Sydney’s Maroubra Beach.
The awe-inspiring video captures members of the club, plus affiliates of New South Wales GAA, arranging themselves on the beach to spell out '1916, 2016 Eire' on the sand.
It was filmed ahead of the annual Cormac McAnallen GAC Sydney Beach Football Tournament and the female narration of the Proclamation over the fascinating footage makes this one of the most mesmerising Easter Rising commemorations you’re likely to see.
