REPUBLICAN candidate Donald Trump has been elected the 45th President of the United States, succeeding President Barack Obama.
President-elect Trump won the election with 58,601,622 popular votes, to Hillary Clinton's 58,391,150.
While the congratulations rolled in, Irish people took to Twitter to air their feelings on the newly-elected President Trump.
