DONALD TRUMP is reportedly planning to remain in the White House even after Joe Biden is inaugurated this January.
Trump has yet to acknowledge defeat in the US presidential elections and according to one report he is ready to ramp up his protest by squatting in the White House.
Biden is due to take the oath of office on January 20. However, an unnamed adviser says Trump has claimed he won’t leave.
Whether he goes through with his alleged plan remains to be seen with the inside source telling CNN they remained skeptical over whether he would actually follow through on the plan.
"He's throwing a f****** temper tantrum. He's going to leave. He's just lashing out," they said.
No American head of state has ever refused to step aside as President with the lack of precedent causing concern in some circles as to what Trump could unleash.
Many of Trump’s advisers have been instead urging the President to begin thinking about a strategy for a potential second run at the presidency in 2024.
Trump’s alleged protest comes just a few days after the electoral college confirmed Biden’s victory over Trump with the Democrat securing 306 votes to Trump’s 232.
It came after weeks of failed legal challenges to the result, with Trump unable to provide evidence of the alleged voter fraud he believes “stole” the election away from him.
Several major Republican figures have now gone against Trump in acknowledging Biden’s victory.
That includes Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, who drew an angry response from the President.
Trump tweeted: “Mitch, 75,000,000 votes, a record for a sitting President (by a lot). Too soon to give up. Republican Party must finally learn to fight. People are angry!”
He doubled down on his claims in another tweet: “Perhaps the biggest difference between 2016 and 2020 is [Fox News], despite the fact that I went from 63,000,000 votes to 75,000,000 Votes, a record 12,000,000 Vote increase. Obama went down 3,000,000 votes, and won. Rigged Election!!!”
