MANCHESTER-IRISH gangster Domenyk Noonan has been charged with engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
The 49-year-old, of Coke Street, Salford, appeared before Trafford Magistrates Court yesterday under the name Domenyk Lattlay-Fottfoy.
Noonan, whose family hails from Dublin, was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Public Protection Division.
At yesterday's hearing, the judge remanded Noonan in custody and sent the case for trial at Minshull Street Crown Court, where he will next appear on June 12.
Noonan was initially arrested by police investigating the suspected rape of a man in his 20s at an address in Stretford on Monday.
He has been bailed without charge until June 24 in relation to the suspected rape.
The news came just two weeks after Noonan's Big Wheel protest brought Manchester city centre to a standstill.
He was charged on Saturday with public nuisance in relation to the stunt, during which he scaled the tourist attraction and sat 100 feet above ground for more than six hours.
He was protesting against plans to recall him to prison after he was told he breached his license. He was released on parole in April after serving time for gun possession.
During the protest, a dozen people were trapped in the wheel’s pods for two hours, including an elderly couple and a boy of three.
He is due to appear in Manchester Magistrates Court on June 5 in relation to the stunt.
