GARDAI and members of the coast guard came to a dolphin's rescue this week after it washed ashore on a beach in Donegal.
Footage emerged yesterday of a number of kind-hearted individuals helping the dolphin back into the surf, after getting stranded on Killahoe Beach.
After managing to slide a sheet underneath it, six members of the emergency services lifted the the stranded porpoise gently back to the safety of deeper water.
