DONALD TRUMP is facing the ignominy of not only being replaced by Joe Biden as President but also as star of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
There have been increasing calls for Trump to be removed from the festive film favourite amid the fallout from the riots witnessed in the US Capitol.
Now one fan is going a step further having petitioned the Walt Disney Company to have Trump digitally removed from the film and replaced by his Democrat rival.
"Home Alone 2 is tarnished," the petition explains.
"It has a racist stain on it in the shape of Donald J Trump. I petition that he be edited out of the film and replaced with Joe Biden.
"Nothing ruins holiday cheer like a sexist, xenophobic, race-baiting bigot," the campaign continues.
"For the sake of future generations, Trump must be replaced."
Prior to his time in the White House, the soon-to-be-ex-president was rather partial to a cameo appearance, popping up in a variety of films and TV shows over the years.
Home Alone 2, the much-loved sequel to the Macaulay Culkin Christmas classic, ranks among the most notable.
Trump features in a brief exchange with Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister, who asks the business mogul for directions in the lobby of the Trump-owned Plaza Hotel in New York.
He even has a line of dialogue, instructing Kevin to go “down the hall and to the left” before doing a double take at the sight of a young boy alone in the Big Apple.
Trump’s superfluous appearance came about because, according to the film’s director Chris Columbus, he bullied his way onto the film.
In fact, Columbus had every intention of cutting Trump from the movie altogether until the appearance ended up testing well with audiences.
However, given the backlash facing the Trump presidency, Columbus and the studio behind the film - the Disney-owned 20th Century Fox - could be persuaded to remove the scene or in what would admittedly be a crazy development, insert Biden.
The Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) previously removed Trump’s brief cameo.
At the time, they claimed it was to make room for commercials, however that didn’t stop Donald Trump Jr from labelling the move “pathetic”.
