Delicious Ireland food event goes down a treat at Selfridges London

Over 50 of Ireland’s best artisan producers and chefs are on show this month in one of Britain’s top department stores.

Until April 29 Selfridges in London is playing host to Delicious Ireland - an irresistible opportunity for food lovers to savour the flavours of Ireland.

Selfridges Food Hall on Oxford Street is currently home to Ireland’s finest food producers, who will be sharing their skills with shoppers hungry for a taste of home.

Visitors can enjoy superb Irish food, some of which is available for the first time in Britain.

Among those taking part are bakers, butter makers, meat curers, eel smokers, jam and chutney makers.

There are also award-winning cheeses such as Cashel Blue from Tipperary and Natural Goat’s Log from Fivemiletown Creamery in the North of Ireland, as well as organic Irish hot smoked salmon from the Burren Smokehouse, O’Donnells Tipperary Crisps and Skelligs’ handmade chocolates.

A host of cookery demonstrations will also be taking place in the Food Hall from some of Ireland’s most influential chefs.

Chefs taking part include Darina Allen of the Ballymaloe cookery school, Ross Lewis from Michelin-starred Dublin restaurant Chapter One, Catherine Fulvio of Co. Wicklow’s Ballyknocken and our own Richard Corrigan.
