Daughter shares last picture with 'angel' Irish mother before fatal stabbing on Christmas Day

THE DAUGHTER of an Irishwoman who was fatally stabbed on Christmas Day has shared the last photo taken with her 'angel.'

Jayne Toal Roat, 43, a nurse at Craigavon Area Hospital, died after an incident at a house in Mornington, Lisburn, on December 25.

Her daughter Charlotte, 21, and another man were also injured in the attack.

A 19 year old man Nathan Ward appeared in court on Friday accused of the murder of the Irish mother, and two counts of attempted murder of Charlotte Reat and his own father Joseph Tweedie on the same date..

He has been remanded into custody to appear again at Lisburn Court on 8 January via videolink.

Taking to social media yesterday, Charlotte shared the last photo she took with her mother Jayne before her death.

She said: "This is the last picture I took with my beautiful mummy on Christmas Eve before we cuddled up on the sofa for the last time.

"Just before she gave me her last kiss her last hug and before she told me she loved me for the very last time.

"My mummy has been taken from me her life was taken from her far too soon in the most cruel way.

"I have been in a panic that I'll never have this photo as it was on snapchat and I haven't got my phone but thankfully one of my best friends screenshotted it for me on Christmas morning.

"Love my angel with all my heart and soul," she said. "My life is changed forever but I can feel you giving me the strength to get you the justice and face the creature who murdered you."
