Daughter of murdered Jason Corbett releases debut book to help other children struggling with loss

AT JUST 13 years of age, Sarah Lynch Corbett has had to come to terms with several massive losses in her life.

She lost her mother to an asthma attack at just three months old, and is the daughter of Limerick man Jason Corbett, who was murdered by Sarah's stepmother Molly and step-grandfather Tom Martens.

Five years on, and having been brought back from North Carolina to Limerick to live with her aunt, uncle and two cousins, Sarah is using her experiences to help other children dealing with grief and upsetting changes.

Sarah's debut book 'Noodle Loses Dad' tells the emotional story of the titular character facing a a life-changing disruption: the loss of a loved one, moving houses and becoming part of a blended family.

The book has a happier ending though, with Noodle learning to find hope and happiness again through the support of her new family.

'Noodle Loses Dad' is the first part of a series of children's books penned by the talented young teenager, which she hopes will "inspire and help other children to process their own challenges to find hope and happiness again like she did".

The first book of the series will be released this Monday, December 2nd, with a special launch in O'Mahony's bookshop in Sarah's hometown of Limerick.

Despite the tragedies experienced from such a young age, with the help of her relatives Sarah has certainly come through the other side and is an aspiring singer, actress and a now-succesfully published author.
