4,000 people gathered today to celebrate the Irish language.
Beo, Gaelach agus Bródúil took place today on the streets of Dublin to celebrate the importance of the Irish language.
The street festival featured guest speakers such as President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, as well as the three ambassadors of Bliain na Gaeilge 2018, Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Eoghan McDermott and Lynette Fay.
The bands Scannal, Kíla and Delorentos also took to the stage to perform for the crowds gathered.
Events were also held for families within Merrion Square, including games, street performers, a puppet show, and workshops ranging from yoga to sean-nós dance.
The festival's hashtag #GaeilgeBheo was trending on Twitter today,
A young girl is speaking on stage at #GaeilgeBheo.
The mic is too high.
Our President, Michael D Huggins, jumps from his formal seat and fixes it for her.
That, mo chairde, is leadership.

"My son here speaks Irish, he goes to Irish school, we have to celebrate our heritage, so that’s why we are here. We are here to show we have integrated & we are proud to be Irish," Tomi Matuluko #GaeilgeBheo @Gaeilge2018 @Gaeloidhttps://t.co/7gbtztUEaS @jackpowerIT @IrishTimes pic.twitter.com/FIGXmpelqn
