Woman seeking help finding man responsible for random act of kindness in Cork supermarket

A COUNTY CORK woman trying to track down the man responsible for a random act of kindness in her local supermarket.

Maeve Joyce was already at the till in her local Aldi in Ballyphehane in Co Cork when she realised she didn’t have enough money to pay for all of her shopping.

Forced to put a few of her items back, Maeve headed out to her car with the remainder of her shopping.

But a kind man followed her out with a bag containing all of the shopping she had been forced to leave behind.

In an incredible act of generosity, the mystery Irish male had paid for the extra items himself.

Eager not to make a big deal of his kind act, the man disappeared soon after, but that didn’t stop Maeve from taking to Twitter to try and track him down.

"At around 2pm in Aldi in Ballyphehane I didn't have enough cash on me and had to leave some groceries,” she explained Cork Beo.

"The guy behind me in the queue follows without with them you stuff that he had paid for. I need to find this guy Cork. I never got his name."

The tweets and news of the man’s lovely gesture soon went viral.

"This is so lovely to hear Maeve!” one follower wrote.

“Some really good people in the world."

Maeve has since returned to Twitter to thank everyone for their retweets and has pledged to pass his act on goodwill onto some else.

“I will pay it forward but I also want to thank this guy with such a kind gesture,” she said.
