A POSTBOX in Cork has been put out of service for the most adorably Irish reason ever.
Locals were advised not to use the box because, unbelievably, a bird had made a nest inside.
Emma Gilleece took to Twitter to post a photo of the sign which had been pinned to the postbox in question in order for the new tenants to remain undisturbed.
Have you seen a sweeter reason for a postbox being out of order? #Cork #AnnesGrove pic.twitter.com/Npert72QfK

The sign told passersby: "This postbox is currently out of service due to a nesting bird. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Funnily enough, in response to Emma's tweet, another social media user noted that the out of service postbox - complete with nesting sign - was visible on Google Maps Street View. Perhaps this isn't the first time these birds have caused the local postmen and women havoc.
How typically, wonderfully Irish.
