Convicted rapist considered ‘one of Ireland’s most violent’ back on the streets of Dublin

A CONVICTED rapist described as “one of Ireland’s most violent” and a “serious threat to women” has reportedly returned to Dublin.

According to The Irish Mail on Sunday, the sex offender is currently staying at a hotel in the city centre having moved back to Ireland in recent weeks.

The man, who is in his early 50s, was convicted back in the 1990s.

However, he is not required to register as a sex offender because his rape convictions predate the introduction of the register.

Prior to moving abroad in 2015, he was also linked to a series of violent attacks on prostitutes, though he was never arrested or charged.

The Irish Mail on Sunday reports that the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was pulled over by police during a routine COVID-19 patrol in the north inner-city area of Dublin.

Officers found a mattress along with pillows and female clothing in the back of his van.

He was also carrying €2,000 in cash.

A source told The Irish Sun: “This man is an extremely dangerous sexual predator and it is concerning that he’s now back in Ireland.

“He claims he was homeless but he had a fair amount of cash and access to a van so he could drive anywhere.

“He is officially classed as high risk especially to sex workers because he knows some of them are vulnerable.

“This man is also a suspect in a number of rapes but it will be harder for him to move around now because of the extra patrols on the roads.”
