CELTIC have paid tribute to a fan who died in a road traffic incident during a family trip to Ireland over Christmas.
Sean Heraghty, 26, died after being struck by a car at around 4.15am on Wednesday morning at Sandhill, near Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal.
Mr Heraghty, from Glasgow, was in Ireland on holiday to spend Christmas with his family.
It is understood he was staying in a holiday home on the outskirts of Dunfanaghy and was walking back to the accommodation when the incident happened.
Celtic’s supporter liaison officer, John Paul Taylor, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Mr Heraghty on behalf of the football club.
“Condolences from all at Celtic to family & friends of Sean Heraghty, 26 who lost his life in a tragic accident in Donegal earlier in the week,” wrote Mr Taylor.
“A big Celtic fan, Sean will be a huge loss to all who knew him. RIP.”

Mr Heraghty was pronounced dead at the scene, while gardaí closed the road as part of their investigation.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Donegal on December 27, 2017.
“A man in his late 20s, a pedestrian, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car at Sandhill, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal, at about 4.15am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The male driver and two female passengers in the car were uninjured.
“Any witnesses to the incident are being urged to come forward.”
