THE funeral of Cathriona White will be held this Saturday in her hometown of Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary.
The beauty therapist, 30, who enjoyed an on/off relationship with Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, was found dead in her home in Los Angeles on Monday, September 28.
Her sister Lisa and stepmother Bríd travelled to Los Angeles to collect her remains ahead of her funeral service in Ireland.
She will be reposed at White's Funeral Home, which is run by her family, on Friday evening.
Her Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at Our Lady of Fatima Church, and she will then be buried at Cappawhite Cemetery.
Carrey is believed to be attending the funeral of his former girlfriend.
A notice posted online by White’s Funeral Home, owned by Ms White’s grandfather said: “Sadly missed by her sisters & brothers Lisa, James, Larina, Sarah and Tadhg, stepmother Bríd, mother Brigid, grandmother Lily, grandfather James, brothers-in-law John Damien, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives & a wide circle of friends.”
The family have requested flowers only and if donations are desired, to send them to the Simon Community and Circle of Friends Tipperary.
Due to the limited 300-seated capacity at Our Lady of Fatima Church, the church has been reserved for family, loved ones and parishioners only.
An external loud speaker will be set up for those paying their respects outside the church.
Following her death – which has since been speculated as suicide - Carrey paid tribute to Ms White.
In a statement, the actor said: “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.
“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.
"My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
Ms White moved to California in 2009.
She began dating the 53-year-old actor three years later.
