Calum Best has shared blood-curdling pictures of him undergoing a 'cupping' treatment which apparently drains impurities from the body.
The 37-year-old shared pictures of the unique cupping being carried out right across his body including the back of his head – and it’s like something out of a horror movie.
A small incision is made in the cupping area and then a slight vacuum is created within the cup to draw out the blood.
Calum says the dark, congealed blood which comes out is filled with toxins and the treatment helps the kidneys to clean the blood.
Sharing gruesome pictures of his treatment on Facebook, he said: "Look away if (you're) squeamish or don't like blood. I am all about alternative medicines and treatments.
"I ventured into cupping last night for my first time.
"A small incision is made on areas for cupping including the back of my head - the most intense/grim/fascinating part!!
"Coconut oil and honey (are) applied, then (the) wet cupping procedure starts with a slight vacuum pump.
"No pain - just a new tight feeling of skin all over, Honestly, no blood or mess.
"The dark congealed blood can be filled with toxins from over the years. Yes, your kidneys do this for you but they can always do with some help."
Calum explained that cupping benefits blood circulation, enhances the immune system, relaxes muscles, improves fertility and detoxifies the blood.
He had the treatment at the Abdelkader Cupping Clinic in Kennington, South London.
Calum's treatment stunned his friends on Facebook.
One said: "Oh god - I just tucked into a sandwich when I saw this."
Another said: "Gross but awesome!!!!! I wanna go!"
Calum has made a habit of undergoing experimental treatments to improve his appearance and wellbeing.
In the past, the star has had THREE hair transplants to cure his baldness at Crown Clinic in Manchester.
He was treated by surgeon-to-the-stars Asim Shahmalak after his confidence was shattered by his hair loss.
Calum said: "There is no doubt this has changed my life. I have been losing my hair since my early 20s."
"Nature's plan was for me to have thin and patchy hair across the top of my scalp.
"But the great thing is, we don't have to follow nature's plan."
"Hair transplant technology has improved so much in the last five years and I have been able to keep hold of all my hair and wear it in my the same way as I did when I was in my teens.
"I've read research saying that baldness can make men look 10 years older. I would say keeping hold of my hair has made me look at least five years younger. The difference in my self-esteem is immeasurable."
Dr. Shahmalak, whose other clients include the TV doctor Christian Jessen and Gogglebox star Chris Butland Steed, said: "I treat a lot of people in the public eye like Calum who are under more pressure to look good. I am delighted Calum is so pleased with his new hair."
