POLICE have appealed for witnesses after robbers targeted two women in Co. Tyrone before stealing one of their handbags.
The women, one in her 50s and the other in her 60s, were walking across the bank carpark off Campsie Road in Omagh at 5.15pm yesterday when they were targeted.
Two men and a woman approached the pair before one of the men snatched one of the women’s handbag, which contained a sum of money.
A PSNI spokesperson said the women were not injured but were left badly shaken by the ordeal.
The suspects made off in the direction of Holmview Avenue.
One of the men is described as having swarthy skin and was wearing three-quarter length khaki shorts and a baseball cap.
The woman is described as having long black-coloured hair.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact PSNI detectives in Omagh on 101, quoting reference 1207 30/06.
