ONE person is believed to have been killed and nine others injured following a shooting in the French city of Strasbourg.
The incident occurred near to the city’s Christmas market, a popular tourist attraction, reports the Independent.
Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, tweeted to say the perpetrator was still at large.
The Police informed me tonight of a shooting in Strasbourg with possibly one victim and several wounded. The perpetrator is still on the run. This is a serious incident and I advise all staff and visitors to stay at home or indoors for the moment.

The French Ministry of the Interior has advised people to stay indoors and wait instructions from authorities.
The Irish Embassy in France has repeated the advice, confirming a major security incident is underway.
The city’s mayor, Roland Ries, said his thoughts were with the victims.
