AN GARDA Síochána have opened an investigation after the bodies of a woman and two young children were found in a house in Dublin.
According to RTÉ News, the alarm was raised by neighbours this morning and Garda officers attended the property in the Llewelyn estate in Ballinteer.
It is understood that the officers became concerned for the welfare of those inside the house and used force to enter the property, where they discovered the bodies.
The victims are believed to be a woman, understood to be the children's mother, and a young boy and girl aged between six and 11 years old.
Gardaí have cordoned off the property in order for a forensic examination of the scene to take place.
The State pathologist has also been alerted to the incident, RTÉ News reports.
Details of the incident continue to emerge as Gardaí launch their investigation; there is no further information available at this time.
A Garda spokesperson is not yet available to comment on the investigation.
