'Bout ye?' YouTube star Korean Billy tackles Belfast dialect – is he dead on or scundered?

HE previously tried to teach people how to speak like a born and bred Dubliner, now YouTube sensation Korean Billy has tackled the Belfast dialect.

The Seoul native and one-time resident of Preston, Lancashire has become popular for his social media videos tackling various dialects around Britain, including a series dedicated solely to mastering Scouse.

But after tackling the likes of the Glasgow, Yorkshire and Birmingham dialects, Billy has once again crossed the Irish Sea to master the Belfast lingo.

The results are mixed, with his accent sounding more Fargo than Falls Road.

He also makes a major faux pas by referring to a poke (ice-cream cone) as a mass noun – sorry Billy, everyone in Belfast knows you go for ‘a poke’, not ‘some poke’.

But overall we’d say Billy was dead on and has no reason to feel scundered.

However we can’t help but wonder what the Korean for 'gutties' is… ?
