HE MAY be one of the biggest stars on the planet, but Bono never forgets his Irish roots.
Just hours after wowing fans during the band’s first ever gig over in India, the U2 frontman was not only back in Ireland but out on the tiles enjoying a drink with friends.
The 59-year-old was snapped indulging in a well-earned pint in one of the capital’s most iconic pubs – Toner’s on Baggot Street.
It was an impressive showing, with Bono shaking off any suggestion of jet-lag to head out for a well-earned night of Christmas merriment.
U2’s gig DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai brought the curtain down on a gruelling world tour that included stop-offs in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the Philippines.
Given such an intensive schedule, Bono would be forgiven for heading straight home to bed upon his return to Ireland.
But the music legend was having none of it, instead popping out into the centre of Dublin for a night of drinks and pictures with fans.
It was an effort that went down a storm with fans, one of whom took to Facebook to share his snaps alongside the Irishman.

Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen will be enjoyed a well-earned break over Christmas and the next couple of months.
But, with plans already in the pipeline for a new album, they won’t be sitting around for too long.
