THE body of abducted murder victim Jastine Valdez is to be repatriated to the Philippines today.
The 24-year-old was found dead in south Dublin last Monday, less than 48 hours after she was forced into a car on the R760 near Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow.
A letter from her suspected killer Mark Hennessy led Gardaí to the site of her remains after he had been shot dead by an armed officer.
Hennessy, 40, a father-of-two from Bray in Co. Wicklow, was shot dead in the driver's seat of his car after being tracked down to Cherrywood Business Park in the capital.
Ms Valdez's parents, Teresita and Danilo Valdez, will travel on Tuesday's flight along with a Ireland's Honorary Consul to the Philippines, Mark Christopher Congdon.
In a joint statement with the family of Mark Hennessy at the weekend, the heartbroken parents said: “In the midst of our grief we exchanged sympathies with each other on the tragic circumstances that resulted in the loss of our respective love ones."
Hennessy was cremated in a private funeral service on Monday in Harold’s Cross in Dublin.
Meanwhile, Gardaí investigating the murder have issued a renewed appeal to the public for information on the whereabouts of a blue 'Next' shoulder bag and the items in it:
- A Bearska jacket
- Nike trainers
- A Leap card
- An iPad mini
- Make-up
- Purple reading glasses with a pink tint
- Lip balm
Detectives are also keen to speak to any passengers who travelled with Jastine on the 185c Dublin Bus on the evening of Saturday, May 19.
