THE BODY of an Irishman missing for over a month has been recovered in a river in Co Meath.
John Stokes, 48 from St Patrick's Park in Navan Co Meath, went missing from his home on November 18.
Meath River Rescue confirmed the Mr Stokes' body was recovered from the River Boyne in Blackcastle Co Meath last night shortly after 7pm.
The search for the missing man was co-ordinated by the River Rescue, Civil Defence, the Garda Water Unit and the Army were involved in the lengthy search.
On social media, family members paid tribute Mr Stokes saying: "We're relieved we have you home now we really have to accept that we will never see you again."
