All the best memes mocking Jacob Rees-Mogg following his House of Commons slouch-gate

CONSERVATIVE MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is the talk of the internet this week - for all the wrong reasons.

Never one to shy away from a spot of publicity, the avid Brexiteer may have bitten off more than he came chew after a period of 24 hours in which he has come in for heavy criticism following his deliberately laxed display in the Houses of Commons.

Evidently eager to show his contempt for the ensuing debate around stopping a no-deal Brexit in its tracks, Rees-Mogg appeared so disinterested and laid back, he was virtually horizontal.

What he could never have bargained for, however, was that his lolloping display would end up finding its way on to social media.

Though plenty have been left angry and dismayed at the Tory MP’s apparent sense of entitlement and disinterest, the image of Rees-Mogg lying across three seats has also sparked a variety of hilarious memes.

Some compared it to a work of art.

Others saw it as the perfect symbol for the Conservative government.

Paddy Power got involved.

So did Poundland.

Ikea even got a look in.

Rees-Mogg's sleepy ways were a source of much amusement.

There were those who saw the thing as a right carry on.

There were Simpsons memes.

And Irish Simpsons memes.

It was absolute madness.

Family Guy too.

And Friends.

Titanic even got a look in.

Someone did actually paint him like of those French girls too.

Some were deathly.

The final word has to go to his though:

Just wow.
