The full line-up for Metallica's Slane Castle gig next month has been announced - and Belfast band Stiff Little Fingers have landed the coveted support slot for what will surely be the Irish gig of the year.
The American rockers will join the long list of other legends who have played Slane in the past, such as U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Guns N’ Roses last year.
It is Metallica’s first gig in in Ireland for more than a decade and they will be joined by Swedish rock band Ghost and Dublin garage rockers FANGCLUB on June 8.
Metallica’s WorldWired tour kicked off last week at Lisbon’s Estadio Restelo and will include 25 shows across 20 countries, and cities not visited on the 2017-2018 legs of the tour, such as Milan, Zürich, Brussels, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, Bucharest and Gothenburg, and first ever appearances in Trondheim, Norway, Hämeenlinna, Finland and Tartu, Estonia.
Tickets are still available from €80 via Ticketmaster.
Every ticket purchased will include a choice of standard physical or standard digital copy of the band’s 10th and current album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
