DUP LEADER Arlene Foster has strongly condemned footage of a man in a Northern Irish pub stating the only thing Adolf Hitler did wrong was “he didn’t kill enough f***ing Jews”.
The inflammatory remarks came as part of a video interview published on Twitter by Israeli-born journalist Tuvia Tenenbom.
Tenenbom was speaking to a group of men in a bar in Derry, Northern Ireland, about the reasons behind their support of Palestine when the comment was made.
After a brief conversation on the topic of Brexit, Tenebom queries the fact several Palestinian flags are on displays in the pub
“You have a lot of Palestinian flags here, why is that? he asks.
“Because we support them,” one man replies.
“Because of the Jews,” another adds with a third stating: “the Israelis, they kill children.”
Tuvia Tenenbom (@tenenbom)- author of ‘To catch a Jew’ - went to Northern Ireland to uncover the truth about support for the Palestinian cause in certain parts of the community. At this point, another man wearing an orange high-vis jacket joins in with anti-Semitic remarks of his own.
“The only thing that Hitler didn’t do wrong – he didn’t kill enough f***ing Jews,” he says, adding “Jews are the scourge of the earth.”
The comments are met with laughter in the clip but have sparked widespread condemnation onlie, with Ms Foster describing the remarks as “disgusting”.
She also offered her support to Northern Ireland’s Jewish community.
A disgusting comment. The small Jewish community in Northern Ireland will always have my support and that of all right thinking people. https://t.co/hFjklbOHrw
