AN AMERICAN tourist in Ireland has gone viral after revealing she punched a man who sexually harassed her.
Leanna Carr, 26, posted pictures of her bruised hand to Twitter after the incident in Dublin, during which a man grabbed her behind.
The power-lifter was in Ireland as part of a three-week trip around Europe, her first time travelling solo.
While walking down the street in Dublin earlier this week, a man grabbed my butt. He proceeded to laugh hysterically and said “you’re an American, you probably liked it”. Apparently traveling solo has made me a better person bc my first reaction was to punch him in the face 😳 pic.twitter.com/qJ82a3iimI

Carr told the Irish Independent she had never punched anyone before but the anger and adrenalin took over.
She feared the man might retaliate but after a couple intervened, he made off.
She said the incident, which took place on Tuesday near Aston Quay, hadn’t soured her view of Ireland, telling the paper: “I was a little shaken and wanted to go home at first.
“I spent a couple days in Galway and went back to Dublin for another day, and I truly met the most amazing Irish locals who were very welcoming and kind.
“I realise situations like this could happen anywhere.”
Carr's tweet has now been liked over 9,000 times, with the reaction being mostly positive.
