American blogger writes vitriolic letter to Irish women behind Two Women Travel Twitter abortion account

AN AMERICAN blogger has slammed the women behind the Twitter account 'Two Women Travel' for calling them 'murderous cowards'.

Conservative blogger Courtney Kirchoff also questioned the use of the word 'brave' to describe the two women.

"Dear women who anoint themselves heroes for killing their unborn babies, You’re cowards. Stone-cold, murderous cowards," the open letter begins.

The Twitter account, Two Women Travel, went viral over the weekend after two Irish women made the decision to live tweet their journey to an undisclosed location in Britain to have an abortion.

The women, who remained anonymous, live tweeted their experience to over 23,000 followers – from departing Dublin airport on Saturday morning to the clinic until they arrived back in Ireland on Sunday evening.

The procedure is still illegal in Ireland but has been the subject of much debate in recent years with many pro-choice campaigners calling for the government to repeal the Eighth amendment.

The story, which has picked up international attention, drew the ire of American writer and novelist Courtney Kirchoff who penned a piece for conservative blog 'Louder with Crowder' slamming the women.

In the piece, Ms Kirchoff blasted the pair, and also took a pop at people praising their actions.

She said: "Lastly there’s you, the self-appointed martyr type. Brave little she-soldiers fighting evil pro-lifers who refuse to keep their rosaries off your ovaries. Specifically for this letter, the ladies of @TwoWomenTravel on Twitter.

"Two broads who decided to live tweet episodes of your abortion quest for the Twitterverse to see. So thousands of she beasts...could applaud you for your daring 'bravery.'"

Her piece slamming the women, which you can read here, has since gone viral.

Last month, Abortion Support Network, a charity which supports Irish women who travel to Britain for abortions heard from heard 67 women seeking help, advice, or financial support.

In 2015, over 4000 women travelled to the UK from Ireland to have an abortion.
