AN AMERICAN comedian has discovered the joys of Ireland’s favourite sporting pastime, hurling, and wants the world to know about it.
US funny man Josh Pray issued an apology to “every Irish person” for previously stereotyping folk from the Emerald Isle.
“All I thought was that you throw a few back, drink a little bit, have the reddest of red hair and talk with the dopest accent,” he explained in a video uploaded to Facebook.
In the clip, Pray can be heard extolling the virtues of hurling after being told about the sport by one of his followers.
Keen to find out more, he tuned into a match and soon liked what he saw.
Eager to share his discovery with the world, the American comic took to social media to talk about the sport in a video that soon went viral with his one million social media followers.
“Hurling has to be the most difficult and eye hurting sport I have ever witnessed,” he said.
“Everything about hurling seems like it hurts”
The 3:11-minute video makes for hilarious viewing with Pray even admitting he would rather sleep on a bed of nails than be picked to play in goals for a match.
This could be the start of something beautiful – here’s to hurling blowing up big in the US in 2019!
