Al Porter denies claims of groping a patient in hospital

THE DUBLIN comedian has responded to claims of sexual harassment in a hospital.

Following multiple reports of sexual harassment in 2017, Porter has been forced to defend himself against claims he groped a young male patient while visiting St. Pat's hospital on Co. Dublin.

The comedian announced in November that he was resigning from Today FM after allegations had been made against him regarding inappropriate behaviour in the past.

One such reported incident occurred in St. Pat's mental health facility and Porter's team have spoken out to deny the claims.

His team said: "Al Porter is cooperating and will continue to do so fully with any inquiry by St Patrick’s as he categorically denies the allegation of criminal wrongdoing.”

According to IrishMirror, St. Pats have insisted that practices to protect their patients were in place:  "You can’t investigate a claim that wasn’t known about – it was made over two years after the alleged incident.

"From a hospital care point of view, we had to ensure we didn’t miss any alarms raised – that all patients were looked after in line with procedure at all times.”
