Acid attack in Dublin leaves two men seriously injured

TWO MEN were seriously injured during what was suspected to be an acid attack in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon.

Gardai were called shortly after the incident, which happened on Jamestown Road around 4pm.

A number of Garda vehicles hurried to the scene, along with members of the Dublin Fire Brigade.

The two men were later seen to by paramedics in front of terrified onlookers, before being rushed to Mater Hospital for further treatment.

The frightening incident is believed to have involved two men embroiled in an ongoing Traveller community feud.

Both thought to be in their 20s, the two men reportedly began a brief fist-fight with each other, with one of the men receiving "lacerations to his body", with the other receiving facial injuries, according to Dublin Live.

It's believed that during the fracas, a "corrosive substance" was used during the horrifying ordeal, coming into contact with both men.

Gardai confirmed that no arrests have been made regarding the attack but that an investigation into the incident is still on going.
